Who said bulk was bad? Bulk domain purchases usually require minimum purchases. While each company's criteria is different, you can expect for discounts to start kicking in around the 10-20 domain purchase mark.
Usually, the when you buy multiple domain names, you can expect incremental savings with the more bulk domain registrations to which you commit (the savings on a 100 domain name purchase is very different from a 20 name buy, so keep that in mind).
